Police Launch Probe Into Viral Video of Angela Okorie Jogging With Armed Escorts

The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation into a viral video showing actress Angela Okorie jogging while being trailed by armed police officers.
In a statement posted Wednesday on its official X handle, and signed by Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police condemned the conduct of the officers seen in the footage, describing their behavior as unprofessional and contrary to the standards expected of police personnel.
“The Nigeria Police Force strongly frowns at the conduct of armed police officers seen in a viral video trailing actress Angela Okorie while she jogged—an act clearly inconsistent with the professional standards and decorum expected of personnel of the Force,” the statement read.
Adejobi acknowledged that the video may have been shot on or around a film set but noted that it has sparked widespread public concern.
“While it remains unclear whether the scene was part of a scripted production, the conduct of the officers in the video falls short of what is expected of members of the Nigeria Police Force,” he added.
He said the Force has begun internal procedures to identify the officers involved and determine the circumstances surrounding the footage. Disciplinary measures will be taken as appropriate based on the outcome of the inquiry.
Angela Okorie has yet to make any public comment on the incident.
Preliminary checks suggest the clip may be a behind-the-scenes moment from Queen of Guns, a film project Okorie began promoting about eight weeks ago. In a video shared on her Instagram page, she had written: “Day 1: Lights camera action! Queen of Guns is ready to blow away your mind. Are you ready?”
