Police In Sokoto arrest 15 suspected bandits

Police In Sokoto state have arrested 15 suspected bandits in separate operations across the state.
Parading the suspects, the state commissioner of Police In Sokoto Ali Hayatu Kaigama said the operations, were carried out in communities across Gwadabawa, Wurno, Wamakko and Bodinga -Tambuwal local government areas of the state.
Kaigama disclosed that several arms and ammunition, including general purpose machine gun, Cartridges, several rounds of live ammunitions, AK-47 rifles and handsets were recovered from the suspects who specialised in heinous crimes in the state.
He explained that the suspects were said to be heading to Tambuwal town for a kidnapping operation before they were intercepted and arrested.
According to the commissioner, the police together with vigilante groups gallantly engaged the suspected bandits in their numbers in a fierce gun battle and succeeded in neutralizing one of the suspected bandits who shot at the leg of one Ibrahim Bello who was fetching water in his farm at Gigane village, Gwadabawa local government area of the state.
Kaigama stressed that two suspected gun runners and suppliers, Muhammadu Mode and Betuwa Dogari all of Bukuyum LGA Zamfara State were arrested.
Kwalle who is now at large, has his criminal activities cut across Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States respectively.
He emphasized the command’s readiness to free the state from criminals.
