Onah joins Council Boss to pick 2nd term bid form

The Deputy Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah has  joined stakeholders from Ohaukwu Local Government Area as the incumbent Chairman of the Council, Hon Prince Ikechukwu Odono purchased All Progressive Congress Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the APC State Secretariat, International Conference Centre, Abakaliki.

The Chairman, Prince Ikechukwu Odono from Izhiangbo axis is seeking reelection for another term as the Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area. Recall that he was elected in July, 2022 which the 2yrs term will expire on July, 2024.

The Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC had earlier announced 13th July 2024 for the Local Government Council Election.

Speaking during the meeting with the APC State zoning Committee for the Local Government Council Election led by Sen Obinna Joseph Ogba who represented Ebonyi Central between 2015-2023, the fourth citizen of the State, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah explained that, zoning arrangement has been the mainstream of Ohaukwu politics as it concerns Local Government Chairmanship position. He maintained that based on the existing arrangement, it’s the turn of Izhiangbo people to occupy the seat and enjoined the people of Ohaukwu to support Izhiangbo people to complete their tenure to enhance peaceful coexistence and egalitarianism. He stressed the need for a level playing ground for anyone interested individuals during the election, adding that the Governor of the State, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru FNIOB GGCEHF had reiterated that, he would not impose candidate on the people as that negate his People’s Charter of Needs mantra.

Addressing the supporter shortly after picking the form, the Chairman, Prince Ikechukwu Odono highlighted some of his achievements in the office and expressed gratitude to the stakeholders, his supporters and party faithful for their support in the past two years he assumed office and guidance and assured the people of Ohaukwu good governance and dividends of democracy 

Party faithful, Development Centre Coordinators, Ward Councilors, SA on Youth Mobilisation to the governor, Sct Paul Eze Ituma, former Chairman of the Council and wife of Aefunai VC, Hon Princess Chinyere Elom PhD among others joined the chairman to purchase the form which was pegged by the APC, at the ton of 25m.
