Onah Applauds Nwifuru, Distributes Fertilizers To Farmers

The Deputy Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah has distributed bags of Fertilizers to over 180 farmers in Ohaukwu South Constituency as part of an effort to boost agriculture and enhance food sufficiency in Nigeria.

Speaking during the flag which took place on the 29th of July 2024 at Grace Garden and Events Centre, Amoffia Ngbo Road, the lawmaker highlighted the importance of Agriculture and encouraged the people of Ohaukwu South Constituency, especially the farmers who benefited from the Fertilizer to put more effort in farming varieties of crops, adding that Agricultural revolution would contribute in mitigating the economic hardship and food insufficiency in Nigeria.

While eulogizing his constituents for their unwavering support to him and the leadership of Rt Hon Bldr Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru FNIOB GGCEHF, he employed parents to caution their children not to join any form of protest despite that it’s one of the inalienable rights of the citizens, adding that, such protest maybe hijacked by hoodlums thereby undermining the security and peace in the State which was made possible by the Governor whom he said has done marvelously in addressing the needs of people sequentially, hence deserves respect and support from well-meaning Ebonyians by not joining the proposed protest commencing from 1st of August 2024 to 10th.

The Deputy Speaker who had earlier called on the government to increase workers’ Salaries, expressed concern about the hardship in the country which resulted in the agitation, and pleaded with people to be patient, assuring that the government is putting a concerted effort into addressing the issue squarely.

Emphasizing the achievements recorded by the Ebonyi State Governor, he applauded the Governor for approving a 2 km road in each of the Communities that has duly recognized traditional rulers and informed his constituents that work has commenced on some of the roads to, including Okposhi Eheku, Ekwashi among others.

“Let me appreciate the governor for approving a 2 Km road in each of the communities that have duly recognized traditional rulers. He kept to his words and I most respectfully appreciate him by marching word with action. Work has commenced on Okposhi Eheku road, Ekwashi and in no distance time the contractor in charge of Amaeku will be on site.”

“All the contractors have been mobilized to the site, so they have no reason not to be on site. Anyone contractor who didn’t comply must be held responsible. For Umuogudu Oshia Ngbo, it’s my priority. If it’s not constructed, I might commit suicide. It’s already in the 2024 budget and the governor assured that work will commence by the last quarter of the year. Let me also inform you that the Governor promised to construct Umuezeka Road to link Odomoke and Amaechi Izhi road to Izhi.”

Rt Hon Onah also acknowledged the legislative prowess of Hon Eze Nwachukwu Eze, Member representing Ohaukwu/Ebonyi Federal Constituency for attracting Umuimama/Igedegede 3 Km road with solar light, describing such infrastructural development as a pathway way to economic development in Ngbo and disclosed he will continue to partner with him to bring more development the people of Ngbo and Ohaukwu at large. He noted that the lawmaker was making an effort to ensure the construction of Ngbo/Agila Road and expressed optimism that it would come to fruition, adding that the Senator representing Ebonyi North, Sen Onyekachi Nwebonyi already attracted FG attention to Odomoke/Benue Road.

Onah reiterated his commitment to bringing dividends of democracy within his capacity to Ohaukwu South Constituency as a justification for the overwhelming votes given to him during the poll and pleaded with the constituents to be patient dispute the brunt of hardship in the country and delay in executing some projects beneficial to them.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries of the Fertilizer, Chief Eze Chima, APC Chairman, Umuogudu Oshia Ward extolled the leadership ingenuity of Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah whom he described as a visionary and compassionate leader who has the interest of his people at heart. He thanked Gov Nwifuru for his exemplary leadership which according to him has brought peace and development in the State and reiterated the support of the party faithful to his leadership.
