Ogah Visits Akuhufu Inyimegu Ikwo, Donates ₦10 Million Over Recent Killings

The Member Representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency at the National Assembly and Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions, Comrade Chinedu Ogah, has condoled with the people of Akuhufu Inyimegu in Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State over the tragic loss of seven lives allegedly at the hands of individuals from Ekpaomaka Community.

During his visit, accompanied by government officials, representatives of the five principal communities in Ikwo, and security agents, Comrade Ogah announced a ₦10 million donation for the construction of a secondary school in the area and pledged to award a scholarship to one of the deceased’s children, a second-year student at Ebonyi State University.

While urging the community to refrain from retaliation, the Federal Lawmaker assured them that the government is actively working to ensure justice is served.

He emphasized the importance of reciprocating Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s peace and development initiatives by remaining law-abiding citizens.

The Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Dr. Donatus Ilang, commended the community for their restraint and pledged the state government’s commitment to investigating the incident thoroughly.

The Chairman of Akuhufu Inyimegu, Evangelist James Ogadah, had earlier alleged that the seven individuals were killed while going about their daily activities and appealed to the state government to intervene and ensure justice.

Community leaders, including Prince David Onuenyim, Mr. Nwabueze Victor, and Mrs. Grace Onuenyim, described the incident as one of the worst in their history and thanked Comrade Ogah for his support during their time of grief.

Comrade Ogah later provided relief materials, including rice and cash, to the affected families and the village.

He also promised to support a twin whose father was a victim of the incident.
