NYSC Lagos Stresses Timely Completion: CDS Projects Must Wrap Up Six Weeks Before Pass-Out

A principal official of the Community Development Service branch of NYSC Lagos State, Mrs Folakemi Obadina, has told 2023 Batch “C” Stream II Prospective Corps Members at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, that all approved community development projects carried out by corps members must be completed at least six weeks before they pass-out of service.
According to the officer, this will enable the scheme assess the project and to commission such projects. While further speaking on CDS project, she said an approved project must be managed well by corps members carrying them out so as not to be in conflict with their place of work.
While speaking on getting approval for project, she said all projects must be approved before carrying them out which is why according to her, a corps member must present a proposal for a project.
Mrs Obadina said any project to be carried out must be able to satisfy the felt-need of the community they intend carrying out for. She urged them to carry out projects during the service year, stating it is a pathway to recognition through the NYSC reward system. She emphasized that even if they are not rewarded, as it maybe sometimes, they would have succeeded in impacting lives.
