NYSC Lagos Organises One-Day Refresher Workshop for Field Officers
The Lagos State chapter of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has organized a one-day refresher workshop for Local Government and Zonal Inspectors in the state (Field Officers).
Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, welcomed the field officers and emphasized the importance of the programme for enabling the officers to enhance their duty posts and promote service delivery efficiency.
Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma, Assistant Director and Head of the Corps Inspection and Monitoring Branch, explained that the program aims to implement policies and programs of the scheme at field offices, bridge gaps, ensure efficient attention to beneficiaries, and retrain staff on scheme operations.
Field officers received a briefing on issues and operations that cut across branches of the scheme as part of today’s program.
Mrs Oluwakemi Awolola, Assistant Director of Corps Welfare and Health Services, briefed the field officers on practical issues related to Corps Members’ leave, health, and maternity.
On his part, Mr Kayode Osinubi, Assistant Director of Deployment and Relocation, discussed issues related to the posting and reposting of Corps Members.
Mrs. Akowonlehin discussed disciplinary cases of Corps Members, while Barrister Onilenla presented on legal issues that may affect the National Youth Service Corps.
Different branches conducted sensitization sessions including Skill Acquisition, Reforms, HR, Planning, Research, PR, Accounts, and Community Development Service.
The purpose of this sensitization is to ensure that all staff, especially field officers, adhere to the Scheme’s policies and programs when making administrative decisions regarding Corps Members.
