NYSC LAGOS: Corps camp directors have emerged in Lagos camp

The three directors responsible for assisting with the administration of the Orientation Camp were announced on Sunday morning.
Out of ten Platoon leaders in the camp, three corps members were selected as Corps Camp Directors after a mini presentation on diction, comportment, content, Platoon’s core values, and leadership skills by each Platoon leader. The selection process was judged by Mrs. Itohan Ehimwema, Head of the Utility and Maintenance Committee, along with Mr. Gabriel Unachukwu, Head of SAED, Mr. Solomon Ekah, Head of Red Cross, and Mrs Ronke Odugbose, Head of Man “O” War.

The leader of Platoon 7 is Obidiaso Chidera Desmond (LA/23C/1007), a graduate of Agricultural Science(Animal Sci. option) from the Nnamdi Azikwe University, Awka emerged the first corps camp director.
The second Corps Camp Director is Olarenwaju Olayemo (LA/23B/0403), a graduate of Mathematics and Education from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi. Esiebo John A. (LA/23C/0561) is a graduate of Business Administration from the Federal University of Technology, Akure.

Speaking before the selection process, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, the State Coordinator of NYSC Lagos, emphasized the importance of the meeting. The purpose of the gathering was to decide which corps members would serve as intermediaries between the other corps members and the camp administrators. Mrs. Baderinwa acknowledged the youth and dynamic nature of the corps members, recognizing that they tend to be faster and more capable of getting things done. Therefore, she called on them to exhibit their leadership qualities and make good use of the opportunity to emerge as leaders.

The Camp Director, Mrs Stella Nweke, expressed her gratitude to the corps members who volunteered themselves for leadership positions after the selection process. She encouraged them to continue leading even if they were not chosen as one of the three Corps Camp Directors.
On behalf of the corps members, the Corps Camp Director, Obiadiaso Desmond, delivered a vote of thanks and expressed appreciation for the opportunity provided to showcase their leadership abilities. Desmond pledged not to betray the trust placed in them by the management.
