NYSC Lagos Coordinator to Corps Members: No Immunity for Breaking Laws During Orientation

Prospective Corps Members of the 2023 Batch “C” Stream II Orientation Course have been told to be law-abiding and that the service year does not confer on them immunity to break the laws of the nation.

The State Coordinator, NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa stated this while briefing the Prospective Corps Members at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja on Monday.

Mrs Baderinwa also told the corps members to keep to traffic rules and avoid altercations with security personnel in and outside the Orientation Camp. Speaking to them on the avoidance of some ill habits while on Camp, she warned the corps members to steer clear of the use of illicit drugs as that will only trigger the Camp authorities to hand them over to the NDLEA.

On Social media usage, the State Coordinator warned them to keep off hate speech, and avoid maligning others on the Social media. She added that the spread of fake and unverified news is what they should not engage in.
Also, to maintain the cleanliness of the camp, the corps members have been told to not litter the camp environment but to drop litters into the designated bins.

She also added that the facilities on camp must be maintained if they want to continue enjoying the services being provided by the Camp management. Meanwhile, the State Coordinator, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, has encouraged the corps members to endure any discomfort that may trail their accommodation in camp as the Orientation Camp is not a five star hotel.
As part of the programme , the Camp officials, and their offices were introduced to the prospective corps members. Also introduced to them were the three Corps Camp Directors who emerged in the morning.
