NYSC DG Donates 5 Cows To corps members In Lagos Camp
The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, donated 5 cows to corps members undergoing orientation at the Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.
The donation, which was made during the Director General’s nationwide tour of orientation camps for the 2024 Batch B Stream I course, is aimed at boosting the morale of the corps members as they begin their service year.
According to sources, General Ahmed encouraged the corps members to take advantage of the orientation course to improve themselves and acquire skills that will make them self-reliant. He emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship, skill development, and personal growth during their service year.
The Director General also cautioned the corps members against night traveling, indiscrimate use of social media, and defacing of the NYSC uniform. He urged them to prioritize their security and well-being at all times.
The visit featured displays from the military formation, Quarter-Guard, Social Reception wardens, Wellness vanguards, Dance troupe, and Man “O” corps. The corps members were visibly excited and grateful for the gesture, which they described as a “welcome surprise”.
The corps members are expected to benefit from the donation, which will provide them with a source of protein and a symbol of motivation as they embark on their service year.
