NYSC: Baderinwa Commends Camp officials

State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, has commended members of the steering committee for the 2024 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course, for surmounting the challenges of the first week of the course, especially in settling the corps members into Camp. She also appreciated them for weathering the discomforts that came with the challenges.

In her assessment of the first week on camp, the State Coordinator urged members to be mature and exercise self-control while dealing with the corps members.
In her further comments, during her address to the members of the Steering Committee, she said the loopholes of the course have been identified in the area of security and that all will be worked on. She added that the good work being done so far must be sustained.

She urged all members to always attend all programmes of the Course, to ensure corps members take with seriousness all organized programmes. She said with that, this will make a corps member comported and not misbehave during programme.
The Camp Director for the course, Mrs Itohan Ehimwenma, appreciated all officials for demonstrating that the Camp belongs to everyone. She commended them for their commitment and doggedness to surmount and manage the challenges of the camp.
She appreciated the State Coordinator, for her prompt response in acquiring more fans to salvage the situation of the heat.
She advised them to be comported even if provoked. She called on them to restrain from physical contact with them. According to her, even if provoked, they must ensure they have clean hands because it is when their hands are clean that they can enforce discipline.
She appealed to all officials, not to leave discipline to security personnel but to join hands together to ensure discipline in the camp.
In his reaction during the meeting, the Resident Officer, Comrade Haruna Habib said the officials have done well tremendously but he appealed to the Camp Commandant to improve on their duty on the camp.
He also stated that over familiarity with the corps members will make the corps members exude contempt for officials and the course. He said that if discipline is not installed in the camp, the field officers may have difficulty in dealing with the corps members.
