Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has sounded a warning to Local Government Chairmen and Coordinators of Development Centres in the state against contractual sabotage, empowerment diversion, and leakages.

Speaking during a church service at the Government House Chapel, Governor Nwifuru charged officials to embark on projects that will have a direct impact on the people, particularly the youths. He set project execution targets for Coordinators and Chairmen, expecting them to deliver projects worth at least ₦10 million and ₦20 million monthly, respectively.

The Governor also commended the state’s youths for not participating in the planned nationwide protest, saying it was a challenge for government officials to do more to meet their expectations.

Governor Nwifuru’s warning comes as the state government embarks on various projects aimed at developing the state and empowering its citizens. He emphasized the need for officials to work in the interest of the people and exhibit ownership spirit in managing public utilities.

The Governor’s call for community development and supervision of projects is seen as a move to ensure that government projects are executed according to specifications and benefit the people directly.
