Nigeria and Qatar Forge Closer Ties: President Tinubu’s Visit to Doha Underway

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will on March 2–3 depart for Qatar on March 2–3, to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
Francisca Omayuli, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the president’s departure schedule on Saturday. The visit will include bilateral discussions on diplomatic and economic issues..
The statement pointed out what it described as a long history of friendship and close bilateral relations between the two countries, adding that the President’s visit to Doha will help build on the existing relationship.
President Tinubu will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, among some other ministers and top government officials.
The Federal Government expressed on Tuesday its desire to strengthen bilateral ties with the Qatar Charity Organization for the economic development and growth of the country.
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, on behalf of the government, received a delegation from the Qatar Charity Organization, which was led by the Ambassador of Qatar to Nigeria, Dr. Ali Bin Ghanem Alhajri.
