Role Purpose

The Analyst – Treasury Operations will play a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day functions of the treasury department. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely execution of financial transactions while maintaining strict adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be involved in managing liquidity, processing payments, reconciling bank accounts, and contributing to operational and financial reporting within the treasury framework.

This role is ideal for a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual with a strong foundation in banking operations, financial instruments, and treasury management systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all treasury activities comply with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guidelines and implement internal controls to manage liquidity and statutory obligations effectively.
• Transaction Settlements: Manage accurate and prompt settlement of financial transactions across platforms such as RTGS, NIBSS, and other interbank systems.
• Ledger Management: Accurately record all treasury-related transactions including investments, loans, and collateral arrangements in the general ledger.
• Reconciliation: Optimize and automate the bank and internal reconciliation processes to eliminate discrepancies and support accurate financial reporting.
• Platform Management: Oversee access rights and operational use of various settlement platforms such as RTGS, ACSD, and QEX, ensuring secure and efficient transaction processing.
• Process Compliance: Enforce adherence to operational standards and regularly update procedure manuals and risk control policies to align with evolving business and regulatory demands.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or any related discipline.

Experience:

• Between 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience, particularly in treasury or settlements within a financial institution, Fintech, or a payment services company.
• Demonstrated knowledge of banking operations and treasury systems.
• Working knowledge of core accounting and financial management principles, especially as applied within a treasury context.
• Proficient in bank reconciliation practices and procedures.
• Familiarity with CBN operations, Treasury Management Systems (TMS/X), and the Automated Clearing Settlement Domain (ACSD).
