Minister Urges Corps Members to Embrace Courage and Self-Belief for Success
Honourable Minister of State for Youths Development, Honourable Ayodele Olawande, Minister of State for the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, has urged 2024 Batch “A” Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja to remain active, steadfast in their pursuit for greatness, emphasizing the need for them to be courageous, and believe in themselves.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by today’s youths in navigating an increasingly complex world, the Minister urged Corps Members to adopt a solution-oriented mindset and cultivate resilience in the face of adversity. He emphasized the critical role of love in fostering progress, urging Corps Members to see themselves as integral parts of Nigeria’s future.
Highlighting the importance of self-belief and innovation, Honourable Olawande Ayodele Wisdom encouraged Corps Members to aspire for greatness, acquire relevant skills and contribute positively to the society. He also introduced the Nigeria Young Academy (NYA), an online platform promoting integrity and excellence in research, as a resource for aspiring young leaders.
As a gesture of support and recognition, the Minister expressed his commitment to rewarding disciplined and determined Corps Members who excel in the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme.
In a show of appreciation for their dedication since the Orientation Course began, the Honourable Minister declared a free day of rest for the corps members.
Earlier, while delivering the camp situation report to the Minister, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, welcomed the Minister to the Orientation Camp.
Briefing him about the challenges of the camp, Mrs Baderinwa stated that the need for a new Orientation Camp has become increasingly important for the scheme in the State. She said the State Government has began work on the Permanent Orientation Camp in Ikorodu.
She emphasized that if the efforts of the government is sustained, and the work is concluded, it will afford the scheme in the State a befitting Orientation Camp and a relief of the continuous challenges posed by the current Orientation Camp.
