Makinde Renames Polytechnic Ibadan After Late Governor Victor Olunloyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially renamed The Polytechnic, Ibadan, in honor of the late former governor, Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the state burial ceremony held in Olunloyo’s honour.
The institution will now be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Dr. Olunloyo, who passed away a few weeks ago, served as the governor of old Oyo State between October and December 1983, and holds the distinction of being the first Ibadan indigene to govern the state. He also previously served as the rector of the Polytechnic.
Governor Makinde explained that the renaming was a tribute to Olunloyo’s legacy and contributions to education and public service in Oyo State.
