Look Unto Governor Nwifuru, Promote His Government And Our Party - Emegha

Ebonyi state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commenced sensitisation tour in the state.

According to the party’s itinerary, the exercise is to last six days across the 13 LGAs of the state with the following persons as invitees: Council Chairmen, LGA party executives, ward Councillors, and ward party chairmen, secretaries, women leaders and youths leaders.

Yesterday, March 25th, the state executive members of the APC led by Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha stormed Afikpo and Edda LGAs for the sensitisation.

Addressing the party faithful, APC State Chairman, Hon Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha (JP) said the essence of the tour was to sensitise the party executives at the grassroot and identify the shortcomings of the party for improvement so as to become more formidable.

Chief Emegha urged the party faithful to look unto Chief Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru who is the leader of the party in the state, describing him as a performing governor with leadership acumen. He further charged them to be promoting the party, the government and Governor Nwifuru’s projects.

“Governor Nwifuru is the leader of our party in the state and he’s performing well. I enjoin you to look unto him while discharging your duties as party executives.

“Promote the party, APC and policies and programmes of Governor Nwifuru led government. Sometimes, on your own, inspect the projects of the governor, snap and showcase them to your friends and the people through social media so the world will see the good work of our hardworking governor”.

The party’s helmsman, Chief Emegha however, charged the executive members to reactivate the activities of the party at the grassroot, review their executives and work in synergy with council chairmen.

“Our visit today is for you to wake up. Reactivate the activities of the party in your respective wards. Hold party meetings regularly in your areas and approach your stakeholders, council chairman or government appointees for sponsorship.

“Go and review your executives. There are some who may have died and some either inactive or uplifted to higher position. You should identify them and notify us so we replace them. We need only active ones to move the party forward.

“As LG and ward chairmen, you should have party office and place our flag there. The party flag is your identity and you should be proud to showcasing it to the people of your area. Let it be flying everywhere.

“Approach more opposition members to join the party because our house is too large to accommodate all. The governor has done well and there is no need for opposition. I don’t want any polling unit in the state to be lost to opposition in the next election.

“There should be a synergy or good working relationship between the party and the council chairmen. Come close to your council chairman because he’s your leader at the grassroot.

“To you, our women leaders, do well to always participate in the activities or programmes of the wife of the governor. Always mobilise our women for that”, Emegha stated.

The Chairmen of the two councils, Afikpo and Edda, Engr Chief Timothy Nwachi and Hon Prince Chima Ekumankama warmly welcomed the state executives, commended the move and pledged their commitment in moving the party forward and eradicating opposition.

In a vote of thanks, party Chairmen of Afikpo and Eda LGAs, Hon Nicholas Oko and Hon Dickson Udu appreciated the party leaders for the outing and promised to put into action all they were taught.

All the state executive members of the party were present at the sensitisation tour including the State Deputy Chairman and State Secretary, Hon Alphonsus Chinedu Nwali and Chief Charles Chukwuma Ofoke .
