A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Lagos State, Jacob Olaoluwa Joshua with state code LA/23A/8363, has created a portrait of Mrs. Omolola Aladesoun, Head of the Press and Public Relations Unit, in recognition of her contributions to the NYSC and dedication to public service.

Corper Joshua, a graduate of Civil Engineering from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, stated this in an interview.

“I wanted to honour her commitment and leadership through my art, as well as to celebrate her as a role model for others.”

“Apart from her office, let me talk about her personality; the little conversation I’ve had with her shows she is a kind mother.”

Joshua recounted, “I was motivated to draw her because she appreciated the quick sketch I made for the NYSC South-West Area Director, Mrs. Abiodun Olubukola, when she visited the NYSC Secretariat office a few months ago. Her positive reaction encouraged me to attempt drawing her.”

In his portrait of Mrs. Aladesoun, he successfully conveyed her strength, grace, and unwavering dedication to her role.

“I wanted viewers to see her as a respected leader and a source of inspiration within the NYSC Lagos State community.”

“I aimed to convey her friendly and approachable nature, encouraging others to connect with her on a personal level. This applies to every person I depict,” he added.

He mentioned that he created portraits for Mrs. Stella Nweke, SAED Assistant Director, and Mrs. Ehinwenma Itohan, CIM Assistant Director, who both appreciated the work, and he was pleased with the result.
