Lagos camp: corps members are posted to four critical economic sectors. – Osinubi

Mr. Olukayode Osinubi, the Head of the Registration Committee and Assistant Director of the Corps Deployment and Relocation Branch of the NYSC scheme in Lagos has informed prospective corps members of 2023 Batch “C” Stream I that they will be posted to the four critical sectors of the economy at the end of the 21-day Orientation Course.
During the lecture on Deployment and Relocation, he mentioned that the four key sectors of the Nigerian economy are Health, Education, Agriculture, and Services and Infrastructure. He also added that even though the economy is constantly evolving and new opportunities are emerging, these sectors have not been thoroughly reviewed to identify and incorporate other potential contributors to the economy.

While stating the functions of the Deployment and Relocation Branch, Mr. Osinubi said it carries out; registration of Prospective Corps Members, relocation of corps members, distribution of certificate of national service as issued by the headquarters of the scheme and it also maintains records(registry).
On her part, Mrs. Modupe Adesoji, an officer of the branch and a member of the registration committee, made it clear that corps members would not be posted to oil companies or any organizations that would not have a positive impact on their lives. She advised the corps members to delay reporting to their place of assignment or attempt to get rejected if they are posted to such organizations. She emphasized that any act of defiance in this regard will be dealt with accordingly.
