Hon. Onah is a model in the modern politics of Ebonyi State – Nwede

Nwede Martin Chinonso, the Special Assistant on Documentation and Culture to the Deputy Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly, has described his boss, Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah as a model in the modern politics of Ohaukwu and Ebonyi State at large. 

Speaking to Asiwaju Media reporter in the Abakaliki metropolis, Nwede, a Political Scientist and Cultural Enthusiast maintained that the Deputy Speaker has set a standard of politicking in the State that no one can easily undo and called on other politicians to learn from him so as to be endearing to the heart of the people like he is. 

He highlighted areas that made the Deputy Speaker different from other politicians to include; Simplicity, humility, generosity, value for the electorates, mentorship of the youths, and accessibility in modern politics .

“My boss, the Deputy Speaker, EBHA has set a standard in Ebonyi State politics. This is a man who wants to carry everyone along. He loves his electorates and always identifies with them in summer and winter. He honors functions on invitation not minding the distance or the personality involved. If he has 100k in his pocket, he is willing to spend 90k to solve the need of another and left 10k for himself”

“He is the most populous lawmaker presently in Ebonyi State and this is because of his generosity and penchant for mentorship of youths. Aside from the Governor, he has the highest number of aides, and all are youths endowed with potential. He always gives them responsibility to carry out to enable know the nitty gritty in leadership, in order for them to deliver on any task tomorrow. He is conscious of how you dress. You dare not dress any who if you are his boy. He would teach you how to look neat, be closer to God, how to be a good servant and how to place the interest of another above your own”

“You can imagine that at the recent widow’s party, he appointed me as the Chairman of the organizing Committee which I delivered. How many politicians can give such responsibility to someone under my age? He always does this but other politicians doesn’t consider giving youths around them essential responsibilities to help them learn. During yuletide, while other politicians are giving who they regard as stakeholders rice, cow etc, he choose shared rice to the youths, including his supporters and none supporters among others having known their capacity and influence during election. No other positions think in this direction” He added. 

While emphasizing on the importance of being close to the electorates in modern politics , Nwede Chinonso noted that the Deputy Speaker is the only lawmaker in Ebonyi State who used to organize a town hall meeting to interact and interface with his people, adding that he does stop on the road to hug and exchange pleasantry with women, men, and youths who gave him the mandate, describing such omen as rare and a true definition of how a leader should be. 

He eulogized him for his legislative prowess and achievements in the House of Assembly and called on the people of Ohaukwu Local Government Area to always rally round him rather than pull him down syndrome which according to him hasalways been one of the features of Ohaukwu politics.

He lauded the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency Rt. Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru FNIOB GGCEHF for his role in ensuring that Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah became the Deputy Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly despite intrigues and collusion and assured him that he won’t disappoint Ebonyians with the opportunity.
