Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah to Distribute Palliatives to 150 Widows in Ohaukwu Community

In his avowed unwavering commitment to the plights of his people, the passionate leader who has always stood tall among his equals, Deputy Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly and member, Representing Ohaukwu South Constituency Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah is set to distribute to palliatives to over 150 selected widows across Ohaukwu Local Government Area on Friday, 29th March 2023 at Grace Garden and Event Centre, Ngbo through his foundation, OJICHIAGA FOUNDATION which was founded in 2023.

Recall that the Deputy Speaker, EBHA who hails from Ohaukwu LG was first elected in 2019 against all odds to represent his people based on his exceptional character, pedigree, and magnanimity and was re-elected in 2023 under the platform of All Progressive Congress. 

His Special Assistant on Documentation and Culture and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Widow’s party, Comr Martin Chinonso Nwede while speaking to a journalist in the Abakaliki metropolis over the weekend disclosed the preparedness for the Widow’s party.

According to him, the widow’s party is geared towards cushioning the effect of the hardship in Nigeria occasioned by the economic recession which has affected the standard of living and witnessed a hike in prices of commodities. He observed that over 150 selected widows who were drawn across the wards in Ohaukwu Local Government Council will be benefiting from the gesture of the Deputy Speaker, among others. 

While underscoring the importance of good health, he disclosed that at the widow’s party, through a partnership with BERWO, a pet project of the wife of Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudeline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, there will be a flag off of Rural Women Health Scheme Program of which over 50 women will be enrolled into the scheme and shall be receiving medical attention throughout the administration of Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor Ebonyi State.

He explained that the event will be chaired by the former Chairman of Ohaukwu Local Government Area, Dr. Princess Chinyere Elom, while the Special Guest is Mrs. Echiegu, a vocal person for Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced (BERWO), among other stakeholders within and outside Ohaukwu Local Government Area. 

While disclosing the preparedness for the event, he maintained that the organizing committee was putting everything in place to ensure the event’s success

He expressed gratitude to Rt Hon Chinedu Ogba Onah for always placing the interest of his people over everything.
