Historic Coronation in Okpuitumo Ikwo as HRH Ezekiel Oyika Assumes Throne as Agramugede II

In a momentous event that marks the end of a 27-year interregnum, the people of Okpuitumo Ikwo gathered in joyous celebration to witness the coronation of their new king, His Royal Highness (HRH) Ezekiel Oyika, as the Agramugede II of Okpuitumo.
The coronation ceremony, held at the ancient Okpuitumo Kingdom brought together dignitaries, traditional rulers, and residents from far and wide who eagerly participated in the historic occasion. The event symbolized the revival of a long-standing tradition that had been dormant since the passing of the last king, Chief Okeowata, nearly three decades ago.

HRH Ezekiel Oyika, a well-respected and community-oriented leader, was chosen by the Okpuitumo Ikwo kingmakers after a meticulous selection. His selection was based on his exemplary qualities, commitment to community development, and adherence to traditional values.
The new monarch, Agramugede II, ascended the throne with a deep sense of responsibility and gratitude.
In his inaugural address, HRH Ezekiel Oyika expressed his dedication to fostering unity, peace, and progress in Okpuitumo Ikwo. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the community during the prolonged absence of a traditional ruler and pledged to work tirelessly to address them.

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be chosen as the Agramugede II of Okpuitumo Ikwo. My reign will be dedicated to the well-being and prosperity of our people. Together, we will overcome challenges, revive our cultural heritage, and build a better Okpuitumo,” proclaimed HRH Ezekiel Oyika.
The coronation ceremony featured colorful cultural displays, traditional dances, and prayers for the prosperity of the kingdom.
It also served as an opportunity for the people of Okpuitumo Ikwo to come together in a spirit of unity and celebrate the restoration of their traditional leadership.

Prominent leaders, including government officials and traditional rulers from neighboring communities, graced the occasion to offer their congratulations and support to the newly crowned king. They expressed optimism that under HRH Ezekiel Oyika’s leadership, Okpuitumo Ikwo would experience a new era of development, progress, and cultural revival.
The coronation of HRH Ezekiel Oyika as the Agramugede II of Okpuitumo Ikwo marks a significant milestone in the history of the community. The people look forward to a bright and prosperous future under the reign of their new monarch, as they embark on a journey of cultural resurgence and community advancement.
