Mother-in-Law Foments Trouble In Ebonyi Village

A crisis is unfolding in Ndiagu-azu village, Echara community, Ikwo LGA, Ebonyi State, as Dr. Ngozi Nwode, mother of the wife of Governor Francis Nwifuru(Mother-in-Law), allegedly seeks to remove the village chairman, Edwin Akam, from office.

According to a Facebook post by Nwoba Chika Nwoba, Dr. Nwode’s actions are causing tension in the village, with some stakeholders accusing her of seeking to impose her preferred candidate, Edwin Okeagu, as the new chairman.

“The mother of the wife of the governor, Dr Ngozi Nwode, Ph.D is working so hard to cause war in the village… She has insisted that the village chairman should step aside for another person to take over,” Nwoba wrote.

Nwoba also alleged that Dr. Nwode had accepted a offer of 400 acres of land from the village in an attempt to pacify her, but has since renewed her efforts to remove Edwin Akam as chairman.

“The village gave her 400 acres of land in the village to own as the mother general she’s fashioning herself to be… She owns the land till date – 400 plots of land!” Nwoba wrote.

The situation has allegedly escalated, with Dr. Nwode storming the village with security personnel, warning stakeholders to steer clear of the issue.

“She stormed the village with two hilux loads of Army and Police officers as a show of force, visiting the homesteads of the village’s stakeholders and warning them to steer clear of the case,” Nwoba wrote.

The villagers are now bracing themselves for the worst-case scenario, as the situation continues to unfold.

“Everyone in the village is waiting for her mother’s next move as they have made up their minds for the worst case scenario!” Nwoba wrote.
