Governor Sanwoolu Calls for Warm Welcome For Corps Members as 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Completes Orientation In Lagos
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, has charged the people of Lagos State to extend a warm welcome to Corps Members deployed to the state for their one-year mandatory National service and provide them with the support and encouragement t needed to make their service year memorable.Â
The Governor gave the charge during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Orientation Course in Lagos.
Governor Sanwoolu who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, Mr. Sesan Tunde Ogundeko, commended the Corps Members for their discipline and unwavering commitment that ensured the success of the orientation course, urging them never to forget the core principle of the scheme, which is national unity.Â
On his part, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Adegoke Fayoade, implored the corps members to go out and replicate the unity and togetherness they exhibited in camp, to drive the nation forward, urging them to be security conscious during the service year.
The State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, called on the Corps Members to be dutiful and diligent during the service year, noting that the Scheme have been engaging employers on the welfare of Corps Members.
The State Coordinator advised them not to put up an attitude detrimental to the past efforts and advocacies of the scheme concerning their welfare.
As part of the programme, some Course officials and Corps Members were commended for their professionalism in attending the Course.
The high points of the events are Martial arts displays and silent drills to entertain guests and the audience.
