FRSC officials explain the factors behind road crashes at Lagos NYSC camp

FRSC Official of the Federal Road Safety Corps, SRC Abiodun Lawal, has in the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, today, stated that, human, mechanical and environmental factors contributing to Road-Traffic crashes.

While delivering the Federal Road Safety Corps lecture, he made this statement to 2023 Batch “C” Stream II corps members undergoing Orientation Course at Iyana-Ipaja Camp.

The Superintendent Route Commander while detailing the factors causing accidents, said the negligence of not regularly subjecting vehicles to checks before going out is a contributing factor to road crashes.

He urged the corps members ensure their vehicles are always checked and maintained before put to use. Frowning against overspeeding, he said the harms in overspeeding does not stop with the person overspeeding but can cause untold damages to other road-users.

He urged the corps members to, while using the road, factor in other road users. He admonished them to keep to the rules guiding road use and ensure vehicular particulars are timely renewed.

He called on corps members to serve as FRSC Vanguards and expressed the readiness of the FRSC to welcome volunteers for the CDS to sensitize people on road use.
