Former Ogun NYSC Coordinator Inspires Lagos Corps Members with Motivational Visit

In a bid to inspire and motivate corps members serving in Lagos State, Dr. Mrs. Belinda Amaeze Faniyi, former Ogun State NYSC Coordinator, paid a visit to the Lagos State NYSC camp today at the ongoing 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation exercise.
The visit was aimed at instilling in the corps members the values and objectives of the NYSC scheme, preparing them for a successful service year and beyond.
Upon arrival, Faniyi was warmly received by the Camp Director, Mrs Oluwakemi Awolola, Publicity & Protocol Committee, the band, camp officials, and the corps members of the orientation broadcasting service (OBS) her constituency, gave her a warm welcome for an inspiring and motivating visit.
She was accompanied by a delegation consisting of Mrs. Omowumi Amzat, General Manager of Aries Insurance Brokers, Mr. Sunday Aladegbaye, President/CEO of ALPES Charitable Foundation, and Mrs. Dorcas James, Lead Consultant/ CEO ANTHROP Management Ltd,and Mrs Muyibat Adeoye, Ex NYSC Staff
In her address, The Founder of ” Youth and Women Skills Empowerment for Africa,” ( YAWSEFA) emphasized the importance of self-reliance, skill acquisition, and humility, urging corps members to take advantage of the SAED programs to equip themselves with necessary skills.
She stressed the need to respect authority, integrate with host communities, and use social media wisely.
The former coordinator also encouraged corps members to be visionary, dream big, and strive for excellence in their various endeavors.
The newly decorated Five Star General Award For Leadership admonished the corps members to be Ambassadors of the scheme, learning the culture ,Tradition and customs of their host communities to facilitate easy integration.
She extensively emphasized the importance of skills acquisition, noting that white-collar jobs are no longer in vogue, and that learning a skill is essential for a more profitable career.
She encouraged the corps members to be creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial, urging them to take advantage of the numerous opportunities available in the scheme. Faniyi also reminded them that the NYSC scheme is a platform for national integration, unity, and development, and charged them to be agents of positive change in their host communities.
The corps members were inspired by Faniyi’s words of encouragement and advice, and the visit was seen as a morale booster, preparing them for a successful service year. The corps members were also entertained with music to the excitement of the visit.
The visit is seen as a testament to Faniyi’s commitment to youth development and empowerment, even after her tenure as NYSC coordinator. Her inspiring visit is expected to have a lasting impact on the corps members, motivating them to embrace the NYSC scheme’s objectives and values, and become positive contributors to the nation’s development.
