FG Funding Allegedly Behind Ebonyi State Empowerment Scheme, Says NCN

Nwoba Chika Nwoba, a social media influencer and member of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State, has raised alarm over the funding source of the Ebonyi State Empowerment Scheme in a live video on his Facebook page.
Nwoba alleged that the funds for the empowerment scheme, totaling N6.5 billion, are coming from the Federal Government, not the Ebonyi State Government.
“The money, N6.5 billion, is coming from the Federal Government of Nigeria. It’s not from the Government of Ebonyi,” Nwoba revealed.
He called on Governor Francis Nwifuru to give credit to the Federal Government for the funding, rather than taking credit for himself.
“Governor Nwifuru should give the glory to the Federal Government for providing the funds for the empowerment scheme,” Nwoba said.
Nwoba’s allegations have generated social media debate and concern among citizens, with many calling for transparency and accountability from the Ebonyi State Government.
The state government has yet to respond to Nwoba’s allegations, fueling further speculation and concern among the populace.
Recall that the Ebonyi State Government earlier this month announced its plans to empower 100 youths in each of the 13 Local Government Areas with 1 million naira each.
This initiative according to the government is aimed at fostering economic growth and youth development, was announced by Governor Francis Nwifuru during a 12-month stewardship account presentation by Pastor Eze Nwachukwu Eze, the member representing Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency.
