FG commences dualisation of Zaria-Funtua-Gusau, Sokoto roads

Zaria-Funtua-Gusau-Sokoto road users in North-West Nigeria praised the government’s move to dualize the road.
Some commuters interviewed by Journalists deemed the move timely and highly beneficial for the region.
The dualisation project, which was awarded to three construction companies, has begun in Samaru Zaria and Gidan Dawa in Zamfara State.
Mallam Aminu Musa Yandoto, a driver from Zamfara State, praised the project, stating that it will have a positive impact on economic activities not only in the region but also in the neighboring Niger Republic.
He expressed the hope that the construction companies will execute a “qualitative job” that will stand the test of time.
Another respondent, Mallam Mohammed Lawal, a passenger, said he’s been plying the road from Zaria to Sokoto for the past 10 years, and described the project as a “game changer” in the transport sector of the zone and the wider country.
The leaders of communities located near the road expressed their gratitude to the federal government for undertaking the road construction project. They believed that the completion of the project would be of immense benefit to them. The leaders appealed to the Federal Ministry of Works to develop effective strategies to supervise the contractors to ensure they deliver a timely and quality job.
