Ex-Presidential Aide Aliyu Audu Slams Tinubu Over Lack Of Access Despite Nearly Two Years Of Service

Aliyu Audu, a former Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs to President Bola Tinubu, has criticized the president for failing to grant him access throughout his nearly two-year tenure in the presidency.

Audu, who recently resigned from his position, expressed frustration during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Thursday, revealing that he never had a sit-down meeting with the president despite serving as one of his spokespersons.

“I worked for the President for nearly two years. I didn’t have a sit down with him. I’m one of his spokespersons, but he sat with Davido, who insulted him a couple of weeks before. Then he sat with that Jandor, who didn’t even come second in the Lagos election. It doesn’t make sense,” Audu said.

He also criticized the president for meeting with Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, and Lagos politician Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), while allegedly sidelining key aides.

Just days before Audu’s resignation, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke—Davido’s uncle—paid a visit to President Tinubu in Lagos. Similarly, Jandor, who ran for Lagos State governor in 2023 under the PDP and later defected, also met with the president in March.

Audu concluded the interview by vowing to actively work against Tinubu’s bid for reelection.
