Ex-Minister’s Burial fixed

The remains of Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, the former Minister of Science, Innovation and Technology will be buried on November 8, 2024, at his hometown of Uburu in Ohaozara LGA, Ebonyi State.
Onu, the former Governor of Old Abia State, former Chairman of ANPP, and a foremost founder of APC passed away at the age of 73 on April 11, 2024, after a brief illness.
A statement from the burial committee, chaired by former Senate President, Sen Anyim Pius Anyim and former Minister of Transport Barr Rotimi Amaechi, announced that the five-day funeral ceremony will take place in Abuja, Abia, and Ebonyi states.
According to the statement, the schedule includes a night of tributes on November 4, 2024, at the Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, starting at 5 PM. A Requiem Mass in his honor will be held at the Church of Assumption in Asokoro, Abuja, on November 5, 2024.
On November 6, a lying-in-state will be conducted at the Abia State Executive Council Chambers at 11 AM, followed by another day of tributes at the Ecumenical Centre in Abakaliki, the capital of Ebonyi State, at 1 PM on the same day.
Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, until his death, had worked as a lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, among other offices he occupied before he passed.
He was one of the APC candidates for the Presidential primary election in 2022.
