A Civil Society Organisation, Arewa Youth Ambassadors, has urged President Bola Tinubu to sell crude oil to private refinery owners in Naira and at a cheaper price in order to stabilise the economy.

At a Media Briefing in Abuja, the chairman of the organisation, Mr. Mohammed Yahaya said that selling crude oil in dollars would be counterproductive productive and would cause untold hardship to majority of citizens in the country.

“Although, crude oil is being sold at the international price and in foreign currency, the Nigerian government, in the interest of the common man, should look into the case of the transaction between NNPLC and Dangote Petroleum Refinery and other refiners and devise a win-win strategy where both parties would be happy”, he said.

Mr. Mohammed attributed inflation to the high cost of fuel which had prevented the people from enjoying the dividends of democracy.

Mr. Yahaya therefore lauded President Tinubu and Private refinery owners for their commitment to solving the near impossible issue of fuel scarcity in the country.
