Court remands former minister over $6b power project fraud

A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded a former Minister of Power and Steel, Olu Agunloye, in Kuje Correctional centre over corruption allegations.
Agunloye was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly misappropriating $6 billion meant for the Mambilla Hydropower Project.
Agunloye pleaded not guilty to the charges read against him.
The judge, however, ordered that he be remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, pending when the bail would be granted.
