The founder of Rapture Empowerment International, Osogbo, Osun State, Bishop Shina Olaribigbe, has been stabbed to death while attempting to settle a domestic dispute between an estranged couple.
Confirming the incident, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Yemisi Opalola, said preliminary investigations indicated that the husband acted out of suspicion of an affair between the pastor and his wife.
Mrs. Opalola explained that the couple had been living apart but not legally separated, and Bishop Olaribigbe had been mediating their issues for some time.
She noted that the husband and wife who served as interpreters in Bishop Olaribigbe’s Church have been apprehended and are under the custody of officers from the Dugbe Police Division in Osogbo.
According to eyewitness accounts, the husband became enraged upon finding the Bishop in the house and suspecting an inappropriate relationship between him and his wife.
A heated argument ensued, during which the husband allegedly stabbed the cleric multiple times in the chest, and he died on the spot.
The incident occurred around the BCGA area of Osogbo, where the late Bishop’s church is located.
