Former BBNaija housemate, Anita, has responded to growing fan criticism over her relationship with fellow ex-housemate, Topher, clarifying that while their romance was real, it ultimately didn’t work out.

In a Snapchat post, Anita dismissed claims that she faked the relationship for personal gain, stressing that honesty and transparency are values she holds dear.

She explained that after leaving the Big Brother house, she and Topher genuinely explored the possibility of a relationship, but it didn’t last. According to her, there was no deceit or hidden agenda—only an honest effort that didn’t pan out.

“I’ve seen and heard the conversations happening online, and I feel it’s important to address them directly, out of respect for those who’ve supported me genuinely,” she wrote.

“There was no deception, no manipulation, and certainly no performance for benefits. Anyone who knows me or has followed my journey understands that I move with intention and honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable.”

Addressing the accusations directly, she added: “The idea that I ‘pretended’ to be in a relationship to receive benefits is both hurtful and incorrect. I’ve never asked for support under false pretences, and I deeply value the trust placed in me by my supporters.”

Anita acknowledged the disappointment some fans might feel, saying their emotions are valid. However, she reaffirmed her commitment to truthfulness and integrity.

“I will always choose transparency over performance, and I will never play with the love or loyalty of the people who hold me up,” she concluded.
