Grammy-winning Afrofusion singer Burna Boy and popular Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest are locked in a social media battle, trading insults and accusations.

In response, Cubana Chief Priest fired back with a series of posts, accusing Burna Boy of jealousy over his success. The socialite also claimed Burna’s Grammy win was linked to his association with Diddy, the embattled American rapper and music mogul.

The socialite went further, recalling how he paid Burna Boy ₦1 million in 2018 to perform as a backup artist for his birthday. He labeled Burna as “beggi beggi,” a local term for a beggar, and urged the singer to stay humble.

“Owerri Rick Ross. What a blessing! Me and Rosay #CpNosmall 2018. Na 1m Naira I pay you to perform as backup artiste for my birthday,” he wrote. “We don dey chop this money before you meet us for queue. Be humble, small boy.”
