Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest Clash in Online Feud

Grammy-winning Afrofusion singer Burna Boy and popular Nigerian socialite Cubana Chief Priest are locked in a social media battle, trading insults and accusations.
The conflict began on Saturday when Burna Boy took to Instagram, describing Cubana Chief Priest as a “low-budget Rick Ross” in a post written in Pidgin English.
Burna Boy’s post read: “No forget say u be Azaman o. And dem don gbe your plug wey him name na Omo Igbo for ATL. And na u be next. #OwerriRickyrozay.”

In response, Cubana Chief Priest fired back with a series of posts, accusing Burna Boy of jealousy over his success. The socialite also claimed Burna’s Grammy win was linked to his association with Diddy, the embattled American rapper and music mogul.
Cubana wrote: “It’s so clear because how is it even possible that someone who brags to be so rich go dey live in so much pain? Wetin dey pain you? Shebi na you be African princess. Only you rush bend down collect Grammy, only you still dey cry.”
The socialite went further, recalling how he paid Burna Boy ₦1 million in 2018 to perform as a backup artist for his birthday. He labeled Burna as “beggi beggi,” a local term for a beggar, and urged the singer to stay humble.
“Owerri Rick Ross. What a blessing! Me and Rosay #CpNosmall 2018. Na 1m Naira I pay you to perform as backup artiste for my birthday,” he wrote. “We don dey chop this money before you meet us for queue. Be humble, small boy.”
