17-Year-Old Killed During Dispute Over Fetching Water

A 17-year-old boy, Musa Muhammad, has died in Kano State following a fight with his childhood friend over tap water.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed the incident on Sunday in a post on X.
Makama said the altercation occurred on Saturday at Rijiyar Lemo Quarters in Kano.
According to the police, the victim’s father, Muhammad Haruna, reported the case to the Bachirawa Police Station.
Haruna explained that his son had gone to fetch water around 11 a.m., where he encountered his 16-year-old friend, Muhammad Aliyu.
An argument reportedly broke out between the two boys and escalated into a physical fight. During the scuffle, Aliyu allegedly struck Musa in the face, causing him to collapse.
Musa was rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, where he was later confirmed dead.
His remains have since been handed over to his family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites.
The police said the suspect has been arrested and that an investigation is underway.
