Umahi inspects Work at Eke Obinagu Flyover

The Honourable Minister of Works, Engr Sen Dave Umahi has on Monday led his team on a spot assessment of Eke Obinagu Flyover which was one of the projects President Ahmed Asiwaju Bola Tinubu GCFR is executing in the Southeast geopolitical zone.
The Minister was accompanied by immediate past Minister of State for Health, Mr. Joseph Ekumankama, CEO, C-SAJA’s Arch Christian Asaga, His Special Adviser on Media, Barr Uchenna Orji, Chief Enekwachi Akpa among others, including a construction consultant Idris Muhammad.
According to the Principal Secretary and Personal Assistant to the Managing Director of the Company handling the project, Martin Chinonso Nwede noted that During the visit, The Honourable Minister appreciated President Tinubu for translating his renewed hope agenda into reality, adding that he has demonstrated his uncommon love towards the people of Southeast Zone and reiterated his unwavering commitment to ensuring that all the projects awarded are completed with the terms of the contract.
Engr. Nweze Umahi who was the former Governor of Ebonyi State and Senator who represented Ebonyi South Senatorial District before he resigned to honor the appointment given to him by the President enjoined the company handling the project to ensure quality work in line with the contract agreement. He lauded the company for mobilizing to the site and expressed hope that the project when completed, will address the gridlock in the area which has raised concerns, and accelerate commercial activities in the the Southeast and
Earlier, the Project Manager, Engr. Basiru Yusuf extolled the Honourable Minister for his leadership ingenuity and commitment towards ensuring that FG roads are given the needed attention to reflect on the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President. He assured the Minister of quality service delivery, adding that necessary steps are being taken to start the work in earnest.
Asiwaju Media observed that the 23-span flyover project was awarded to Reinforced Global Resources LTD, one of the leading construction firms in Nigeria.
Eke Obinagu, Enugu State has witnessed a high level of gridlock due to the nature of the area. Motorists and passengers had over time decried the State of the road, calling on the government to expand the road or construct a flyover to curb the continuous traffic congestion in the area for easy access and flow of commercial activities.
