Tinubu, politicians, mourn Akeredolu, Na’Abba

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his profound grief over the demise of Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu

In a personally signed statement released on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu while describing their relationship, referred to Akeredolu as a brother, confidant and political soulmate.

“Rotimi was a man of ideas and action. While he was with us, he taught us the power of action and service, said the president.

Similarly, President Tinubu has sent words of sympathy to the Na’Abba family, the government, and the people of Kano State over the passing of a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Abba

The President acknowledged the contributions of the late ex-lawmaker to nation-building through legislation, advocacy, and policy.

Similarly, the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has described Akeredolu’s death as a colossal loss to the country and Ondo State in particular.

Governor Sanwo-Olu said Akeredolu would be greatly missed for his positive impacts in Ondo State, South-West and Nigeria as a whole.

He also commiserated with the Ondo State Acting Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s widow, Dr. Betty Akeredolu, and the entire family and friends of the deceased.

The Governor also sympathized with the entire people of Ondo State, especially the indigenes of Owo, on the demise of their illustrious son, praying that God would grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state  has condoled with the Kano and Ondo state Governments over the death of the former Speaker, House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’abba and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

He described the death of Ghali Na’abba and Rotimi Akeredolu as a colossal loss not only to their states and Nigeria alone but to the Nation’s democracy.

Also, an Elder statesman, Tanko Yakasai has described the death of the 8th Speaker of the National Assembly,  Ghali Umar Na’Abba as shocking, and devastating. 

Yakasai who spoke with journalists in Kano stated “Ghali is my son, he grew up to hold position of authority,  and his renowned principles on separation of power made him a Speaker’s Speaker who died when his services is needed most.”

“I therefore want to seized this auspicious time to commiserate with Na’Abba’s family in particular,  Kano state, and Nigeria in general over his demise, and beseech Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Janatul Furdausi.
