NYSC Lagos: Be Sensitive To The Needs Of Your Host Communities – ARAOYE

Retired Deputy Director of the NYSC, Mrs. Olubunmi Araoye have called on the 2023 Batch “C” Stream I corps members at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja, to be sensitive to the needs of their host communities during the service year, and work to remedy the needs through community service.
she charged them to be assets to their host communities instead of passing through the system without imprints.

While advising the corps members on the need to be serious about the service year, she said the future of corps members after NYSC is dependent on how efficiently they utilized the various self-discovery programmes on camp such as the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development(SAED), debates, competitions and others.
Mrs Araoye also urged corps members to portray unity, be respectful of the religion and opinions of others, maintain relationships, check-in on family members, especially their benefactors who contributed to their education, to decide in their hearts to be assets at their PPA, to be security conscious, to be closer to their Creator, to take NYSC as a platform to achieving their goals, to avoid travelling without permission, and be courteous.
While speaking On marriage, she encouraged them to take advantage of the scheme in their search for spouse by making and maintaining relationships, stating that the NYSC is a veritable platform for marital choices.
