Governor Alia Forges Historic Alliance: Benue’s Makurdi-Ninth Mile Road Project Poised for Transformation

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has affirmed an unprecedented partnership with China Harbour Engineering Company, igniting optimism for the monumental second phase of the Abuja-Makurdi-Ninth Mile (Enugu) road project.

“Benue stands ready to collaborate and support the visionary efforts of China Harbour Engineering Company in advancing our infrastructure and connectivity,” Governor Alia declared during an auspicious meeting at Government House, Makurdi.

Expressing fervent anticipation for the project’s commencement, Mr Alia assured, “The state government is fully committed, with a dedicated team poised to facilitate collaboration and address land compensation matters.”

Gratitude poured forth from the governor towards the Federal Government, remarking, “We extend heartfelt appreciation for awarding the contract and to China Harbour Engineering Company for their pivotal role in the successful completion of the Abuja-Makurdi dualization project.”

In response, Li Qaingqiang, the Project Manager, conveyed gratitude, noting, “We deeply appreciate the cooperation received from the people of Benue. Their continued support will be instrumental in the timely completion of the Makurdi-Ninth Mile (Enugu) road.”

Highlighting the urgency of joint action on land compensation challenges, Mr Qaingqiang emphasized, “Preparatory works were initiated in 2023, and substantive construction is poised to commence imminently.”

With a shared commitment resonating between the government and the engineering company, the imminent collaboration holds the promise of an infrastructural revolution, poised to redefine transportation and herald a new era of development for the people of Benue State and Nigeria at large.
