Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai have officially adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the political platform for their newly formed opposition coalition.

DAILY POST reliably gathered that the decision was reached during a meeting held on Tuesday night, which extended into the early hours of Wednesday.

A source familiar with the development, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the formation of the coalition.

“They have adopted the African Democratic Congress as the coalition party. All of them—Atiku, Obi, El-Rufai—are working together,” the insider revealed. “They came to that conclusion at a meeting last night that went on till early this morning. You know politicians meet when we’re asleep.”

According to the source, all key leaders and stakeholders of the coalition attended the meeting. Committees have also been set up to handle the technical and structural aspects ahead of a formal unveiling.

“But effectively, as we speak, the coalition has been born. The conclusion meeting took place,” the source emphasized.

When asked about the date for the official announcement, the source said: “There is none for now, but it will be sooner than later—very soon.”
