Zulum Renames Borno State University After Kashim Ibrahim
In a new development, the Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has announced the renaming of Borno State University to Kashim Ibrahim University. This decision was made at the first Borno State Executive Council meeting at the Government house on Monday.
Making this known to the public, Professor Usman Tar, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, explained that the renaming is subject to legislative procedures and formal notifications to relevant regulatory bodies, including the National Universities Commission and JAMB.
He stated that the change conforms with the government’s efforts to honor distinguished leaders who contributed significantly to the development of Borno state and Northern Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Zulum presided over the meeting, where 42 memos were reviewed, and the performance of the previous year was assessed. Projections for 2025 were also discussed were also discussed during the executive council meeting.
