Victory for Platoon 6: NYSC Lagos Interplatoon Drills Champions
Platoon 6 emerged victorious in the 2024 Batch “A” Stream I Orientation Course Interplatoon Drills Competition at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.
The Interplatoon Drills competition, which had been the result of countless hours of rehearsals by the ten platoons on the camp, reached its climax. Following adjudication by a 3-man military panel, the Camp Commandant announced the top three platoons on Saturday.
Platoon 6 secured the top spot, with Platoon 9 coming in second place, and Platoon 1 in third. Platoon 7, on the other hand, received recognition as the poorest performer and was awarded a wooden spatula. The top-placed platoons, on the other hand, received trophies and cash prizes.
Before announcing the results, the State Coordinator of NYSC Lagos, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, commended the corps members for their endurance, team spirit, collective responsibility, and dedication.
Similarly, the Camp Commandant, Major I. M. Ibrahim, highlighted the purpose of drills in fostering obedience and alertness among the troops. The competition also featured entertaining drills by military instructors and a demonstration of the “pace drill stick” by a 4-man military team.
