Umahi, Akpabio, Otti, Nwoko, Nwebonyi, Ani Storm Port Harcourt for Sharon & John’s Grand Wedding

Port Harcourt was filled with elegance and political presence on Saturday, July 12, 2025, as Sharon Chidera and John Chukwudi celebrated their wedding in a grand ceremony.

Sharon, daughter of Chief Austine Umahi (Anyanwu Ndigbo) and niece of the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, CON, exchanged vows with her partner in a church service followed by a lavish reception at Oaks Garden.

The event brought together several top figures from politics, business, and society. In attendance were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Minister of Works David Umahi, Ebonyi First Lady Chief Mary Maudline Nwifuru, Deputy Senate Whip Onyekachi Nwebonyi, Delta North Senator Ned Nwoko, and Senator for Ebonyi South Anthony Ani.

Others present included Hon. Nkemkamma Kama, HRH Eze Laz Umahi, Barr. Roy Umahi, Gen. Abel Obi Umahi (rtd), Barr. Chioma Nweze (SSA to the President on Community Engagement, Southeast), Hon. Enekwechi Akpa, Chief Christian Asaga Nwali, and many other family members, friends, and well-wishers.

In his remarks, Senate President Akpabio praised David Umahi’s performance as Minister of Works. He noted Umahi’s role in transforming Nigeria’s infrastructure, particularly the Lagos-Calabar coastal road and the rehabilitation of the East-West road. He said Nigeria is proud of his achievements.

Turning to the couple, Akpabio encouraged them to prioritize real connections over social media and wished them peace and joy in their marriage.

Governor Otti also congratulated the couple and prayed for peace, love, and fruitfulness in their home. He urged them to always resolve their issues with love and never allow third parties into their marriage, not even their parents.
