President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Abuja on Saturday night, marking the end of a two-week diplomatic mission to Saint Lucia and Brazil — the latest in a string of international engagements since he assumed office.

He was received at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by a delegation of top government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku; Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko; and Alhaji Ibrahim Masari.

Tinubu departed Abuja on June 28, 2025, beginning his journey with a state visit to Saint Lucia in commemoration of the Caribbean nation’s 45th Independence Anniversary. The trip was aimed at deepening ties between Nigeria and Caribbean nations and promoting South-South cooperation.

On July 4, the President proceeded to Brazil, where he joined other world leaders at the 2025 BRICS Summit held in Rio de Janeiro from July 6 to 7. The summit focused on sustainable development and advancing reforms in the global economic order.

His return flight, aboard a San Marino-registered Boeing Business Jet (BBJ) with registration number T7-NAS, departed Galeão International Airport at 12:50 p.m. local time (4:50 p.m. Nigerian time) on Saturday.

This visit adds to President Tinubu’s extensive foreign travel record. Since taking office in May 2023, he has embarked on no fewer than 41 international trips to at least 28 countries across Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the Americas.

France tops the list of his most visited destinations with six trips, followed by the United Kingdom (four visits), and the United Arab Emirates (three times). Other key countries on his itinerary have included the United States, China, India, and Saudi Arabia.

These trips have ranged from ceremonial appearances to economic summits, strategic diplomatic missions, and bilateral meetings — all aligned with his administration’s foreign policy priorities.
