President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of a new board for the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), a pivotal move aimed at fortifying Nigeria’s capital market.
The appointments include prominent figures in the Nigerian professional sphere:
Mr. Mairiga Aliyu Katuka as Chairman,
Mr. Emomotimi Agama as Director-General,
Frana Chukwuogor as Executive Commissioner (Legal and Enforcement),
Mr. Bola Ajomale as Executive Commissioner (Operations),
Mrs. Samiya Hassan Usman as Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services),
Mr. Lekan Belo as Non-Executive Commissioner, and
Mr. Kasimu Garba Kurfi as Non-Executive Commissioner.
Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President, in a press statement emphasized the President’s confidence in the appointed professionals, anticipating their collective expertise to steer the SEC towards fulfilling its mandate.
