Senator Ireti Kingibe, who represents the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in the National Assembly, has accused FCT Minister Nyesom Wike of unlawfully approving massive fee waivers for land allocations granted to his sons.

Speaking during an interview on Arise TV, Kingibe claimed she possesses documents proving that Wike allocated vast plots of land to his sons and slashed their land title bills from N200 million to just N2 million within 48 hours.

“I have documents to show that Wike allocated land to his sons—huge tracts of land,” she said. “Fine, they’re his sons and entitled to land. No problem. But when a N200 million bill is reduced to N2 million in 48 hours through a waiver he approved himself, that’s not just illegal—it’s unethical and grossly unfair.”

The senator alleged that Wike has consistently shown favoritism in land allocation, often granting improper waivers to relatives. She vowed to present her evidence to the National Assembly and push for accountability.

“I wouldn’t come here without having the facts and documentation,” she stated.

Kingibe also accused Wike of revoking land in the Bwari area that had been reserved for a government general hospital, claiming he now intends to build a market or shopping mall on the site.

Her allegations came shortly before she walked out of the Senate in protest over what she described as insensitivity to the ongoing demolitions in the FCT.
