Fabián Ruiz netted twice, while Ousmane Dembélé delivered a goal and an assist as Paris Saint-Germain dismantled Real Madrid 4–0 in the FIFA Club World Cup semifinal on Wednesday, eliminating Kylian Mbappé and booking a place in Sunday’s final.

PSG stormed to a 3–0 lead within the opening 24 minutes at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, silencing a crowd largely backing Madrid. Gonçalo Ramos, who replaced Dembélé early in the second half, added the fourth goal in the 87th minute.

Gianluigi Donnarumma denied Mbappé with an early save and finished with two stops, as PSG’s defense cruised to their fifth clean sheet in six tournament games.

The match marked Mbappé’s first meeting with his former club, where he scored 256 goals over seven years before joining Madrid last summer. Starting alongside Gonzalo García after two consecutive bench appearances, the French star failed to find the net.

PSG’s attack was relentless from the outset. Thibaut Courtois made two sharp saves in the opening five minutes, but the breakthrough came in the sixth. Dembélé dispossessed Raúl Asencio in the box, slipped past Courtois, and teed up Ruiz for a one-touch finish.

Moments later, Dembélé pounced again—pressuring Antonio Rüdiger into a costly error, collecting the loose ball, and calmly slotting it past Courtois to double the lead inside nine minutes.

PSG’s third came after Mbappé had a shot blocked. A quick counterattack saw Achraf Hakimi tear down the right flank, exchange passes with Dembélé, and deliver a perfect cross for Ruiz to tap in his second goal.

Real Madrid were without Trent Alexander-Arnold, who reportedly missed the match due to a training injury.

PSG will now face Chelsea in Sunday’s final. Chelsea won the Club World Cup in 2021, while PSG aim to become the first French club to claim the title. The sides have met eight times previously, all in UEFA Champions League action, with PSG holding a slight edge: three wins, three draws, and two losses.
