President Ruto Jokes About Kenyan Women Choosing Nigerian Men, Says Local Men Are ‘Too Slow’
Kenyan President William Ruto has playfully commented on the growing trend of Nigerian men marrying Kenyan women, noting that both of his daughters are now married to Nigerians.
Speaking at a recent wedding ceremony, Ruto joked about the increasing preference of Kenyan women for Nigerian men, teasing that local men appear to be “too slow” in comparison.
In a video that has since gone viral, the president expressed lighthearted concern that the country could face a “brain drain” if the trend continues.
“My daughter is married to a Nigerian, and this one is now married to a Nigerian. And our guys around; I don’t know, are you slow? I don’t know,” Ruto said. “We need to balance this scale because at this rate, we are going to have a brain drain from Kenya.”
