Police Launch Investigation Into Viral Video Of Mother Giving Infant Alcohol

The Nigeria Police Force has announced it is investigating a disturbing video that shows a mother giving alcohol to her infant daughter, allegedly to help the child sleep at night.
In the viral clip, the woman is seen feeding the baby alcohol from a sachet, sparking outrage across social media.
Reacting via a statement on X, the police confirmed they are aware of the incident and have launched an immediate probe. They stressed that exposing a child to alcohol is both dangerous and illegal, and called on members of the public to assist in identifying the woman.
“The child’s safety is our priority,” the statement read. “Anyone with useful information should contact us on 09169967000.”
